AJET
From HyogoAJET
[edit] National AJET
The Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching, or AJET, is a support and social network for JET Programme participants. A national organisation, AJET organises cultural, sporting and charity events, publishes a range of books and information, maintains a counselling service, and represents JETs and their concerns to CLAIR. AJET has existed since the inception of the JET Programme and continues to be a volunteer organisation, run by JETs, for JETs. First years will be given the opportunity to join at Tokyo Orientation, and at time of writing, joining National AJET is free. For more information, visit http://ajet.net
[edit] Hyogo AJET
In brief, Hyogo AJET is a chapter of national AJET. Whilst national AJET lends support to all JETs in Japan, Hyogo AJET is a smaller body of JETs working for JETs specifically within Hyogo prefecture. They organize activities and volunteer trips, produce the monthly "Hyogo Times," and provide services such as the Hyogo AJET Library. Joining is easy, and if you are a first year, you will be able to sign up at Yashiro Orientation. For more information, visit their website www.hyogoajet.net, or email the Prefectural Rep at hajetpr@gmail.com.
