Every prefecture employs some of its JETs as Prefectural Advisors, or PAs. In some prefectures ALTs get the job, in other prefectures a CIR gets the job, and some prefectures hire both. To find out more about the PA system, read about it on CLAIR's website.

In Hyogo, the English-speaking CIRs and Japanese members of the International Relations Staff are the PAs. Our names are Liz, Ben and Yoshimoto. While we are not professional counselors, we do have counseling experience and training, and are always happy to listen no matter how big or small a problem may be. And, apart from information about illegal activity (which we are legally obligated to report), everything you tell us will be kept strictly confidential. The three of us may consult with each other, but we will not disclose anything you tell us to anybody else without your explicit permission. Our office hours are from 9:45 am to 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday, and you can email us or call us at 078-362-9017. Go Here for a listing of our contact information.

We are here to help you out in any way we can, so if you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to call us.

Liz

Liz is a 3rd year CIR from Seattle, Washington. She works at the Hyogo International Association.

Ben

Ben is a 2nd year CIR from Milton Keynes, UK. He works in the Hyogo Prefectural Government.

Ueno

Ueno-san shares the PA duties with us, acting as a contact point for teachers and administrators that have questions about their JETs. Whenever a big problem arises, the JET PAs work together with her to make sure the problem gets a satisfactory solution for both sides.
