New newspaper that combines the IHT (produced by the NY Times and the Washington Post) and Japan's Asahi Shinbun. Highly recommended, but a little thin. To get a free sample copy, send a fax marked "Sample copy of the IHT" with your full name, address and phone number.

The cheapest English paper around. Many articles come from Reuters and the AP, and much is translated from the Japanese Yomiuri, but it also carries supplements from popular magazines and United States and British newspapers on a weekly basis.

Many say it's the best paper in Japan, with informative editorials and good world coverage. It's also the most expensive.
